Wat Pho Thai Massage

All I could think of when I saw this sign were the black guys in my high school asking why they were getting sent to the office...in ebonics of course as follows:

Teacher: Johnny, go to the office now!
Johnny (black guy): Wat Pho?!!! (What for?!!!)

It cracked me up and I couldn't stop saying Wat Pho! My friend was probably getting a bit tired of hearing it! We didn't actually go for a massage there but if you are ever in Stockholm, maybe you can check it out!

Haha...Wow...you obviously didn't understand what I was saying and take this blog way too seriously so let me explain better for you. This particular place is a massage parlor in Stockholm, Sweden...it is not a comment about a Buddhist temple in Thailand. Secondly, I was simply sharing something about what the name reminded me of that was for me amusing...something that people who grew up around black people would understand. I'm sorry if it doesn't make any sense to you but maybe you should keep a more open mind if you are going to read random blogs. Enjoy perusing!

Oh...let me be more specific...black Americans like the ones I grew up around.

Can you be anymore ignorant? Why must you stereotype black americans? Do all black americans speak like that? Not very funny.. Anonymous was right.. Haha

Perhaps you didn't catch my last comment so let me explain better. Obviously not all black people speak like this. But for sure, there were a number of black people that I grew up around that did. I was not generalizing all black people...I was recalling the ones that I grew up around that did. The amusing part for me was simply the reminder of my high school years that the play on words did. The sincere frustration in their tone as they questioned legitimate trips to the office in order to cause the teacher to question her own sanity was quite entertaining. It's amazing how people want to read generalizations from comments with specific targets. If you will look, I was not making generalizations about all or most blacks in my post but commenting specifically on people I grew up with that spoke like that.
